Today's camera is the CASIO EX-ZS210!

If the name Casio rang a bell right away, you know your stuff. Yes, that Casio, famous for watches and calculators. In fact, Casio also made cameras. They have since withdrawn from the camera business, but they were a pioneer of their era in compact digital cameras...

In 1995, Casio released the QV-10, the world's first consumer digital camera with an LCD monitor. There had been a few cameras that shot digitally instead of on film before then, but they were all expensive professional models, or ones where you had to download the data later to see what you had shot. The QV-10, however, let you check your photos on the spot. At the time, this was revolutionary. Okay, I have gone way off topic. This article is about the EX-ZS210 ( ;∀;)

The first shot is of nemophila at a park. The color feels honest and straightforward rather than flashy. It renders subtle color differences well, giving a clean, modern look. It was not the somewhat warm rendering of the CCD sensors that are so popular these days, which surprised me a little.

The second shot. This one is also clean and refreshing. Perhaps because it renders colors deeply without letting them break down, even an ordinary scene comes out with nice atmosphere. It is also great that the shadows hold up without being crushed to black.
