[With Sample Photos] The More You Shoot, the More You're Drawn In: The Rendering of the XF35mm F1.4 R on the FUJIFILM X-M1 + FUJIFILM XF 35mm f1.4 R

Hello, everyone.

This time we introduce the FUJIFILM X-M1 and the FUJIFILM XF35mm F1.4 R, a pairing that makes you want to shoot more every time you press the shutter.

The lightweight, easy-to-carry X-M1 has an APS-C X-Trans CMOS sensor and offers a richness of rendering you wouldn't imagine from its compact looks.

Paired with it is the XF35mm F1.4 R, long loved as one of the great Fujinon lenses. Its charm lies in the beautiful bokeh and the soft, three-dimensional rendering that only a maximum aperture of f/1.4 can give.

From ordinary everyday scenes to moments with someone dear and landscapes encountered while traveling...

1. Lightly Capturing a Moment in the City

A shot capturing a bicycle and a route bus on the road at close range.

The slight sense of movement in the subjects creates the immediacy of a city road. It's a shot that shows the natural colors unique to the FUJIFILM X-M1 and XF35mm F1.4 R combination, and a lightness suited to snapshots.

2. Carefully Rendering the Texture of a Retro Building

A shot cropping part of a building, such as tiles and stairs.

It isn't a flashy subject, but the texture and atmosphere unique to an old building are captured well. Being able to enjoy the shading of fine details and the feel of materials is another charm of the XF35mm F1.4 R.

3. Blue Floating in a Cloudy City

A shot in which the wall of a building on a cloudy day, a light-blue sign, and a blue traffic light stand out.

Within the generally calm tones, the blues quietly stand out. There is a cohesiveness of color typical of FUJIFILM, and even an ordinary street corner becomes an atmospheric photo.

4. A Street Corner Snap with Depth Created by Front Bokeh

A sample capturing a taxi running toward the camera.

The large blur of the plants in the foreground adds depth and a three-dimensional feel to the frame. By taking advantage of the XF35mm F1.4 R's bright maximum aperture, you can add an impressive look even to ordinary city scenes.

5. Impressively Capturing the Form of an Old Apartment Building

A shot taken looking up at an old apartment building in the city.

Black stains running down the white wall look like stripes, and the building's aging gives it a distinctive expression. Together with the power lines stretching sideways, the impersonal atmosphere of a cityscape comes through well.

6. A Fantastical Blue Hydrangea Floating in the Dark

A shot in which a blue hydrangea stands out vividly against a dark background.

A slight blur makes the flower appear to flow, creating a fantastical atmosphere. It's a sample where you can also enjoy the chance quality unique to photography, which isn't only about stopping motion exactly.
